About Me
Hello, my name is Claire and thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about me and what I have to offer.
If you’re reading this, I imagine life has got difficult, that you’re possibly feeling overwhelmed and not able to find a way forward. My aim in therapy is to offer you a safe space where you can look at difficult feelings or issues you may be struggling with and explore ways to manage this and move on.
I am a qualified and registered therapeutic counsellor and my training is in humanistic therapy which holds at its heart the power we all have to heal ourselves given the right conditions. I work in an integrative style, which means that I also use other modalities and resources to meet your individual needs.
My experience has included work in a variety of settings including a GPs surgery, a girls’ secondary school and working for HeadsTogether who provide free and confidential counselling to young people aged 11-24. I am currently working for a charity providing counselling services to families whose children face cancer and other life-threatening conditions and at my private practice in central Dorking, Surrey.
I am a fully qualified and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics.
I am fully insured, am on the DBS Update service, have ongoing clinical supervision and regularly attend courses and further training to enhance my learning and development. Recent training includes:
